Who is Kelly Marsh?
Brookhaven knows the name Kelly Marsh. All you have to do is drive through Brookhaven and you will see her red real estate signs emblazoned with her team slogan “Kelly Did It Again!” Not only will you see her name around town, it’s likely you will see Kelly herself grabbing a bite at one of the city’s hot spots like Kaleidoscope, Haven, or Pure. Kelly truly is a neighborhood expert – she works and lives in Brookhaven. As a Brookhaven resident for 20 years, Kelly has had the advantage of watching the city grow and flourish since before its official inception in 2012. Kelly’s perspective as a Brookhaven resident along with her extensive business experience and unique background has helped make her real estate team, Kelly Marsh & Associates, the #1 selling team in North Dekalb County. The team lists and sells homes not just in Brookhaven, but also in other parts of the metro area.
Kelly’s strong business background is rooted in sales and marketing. After graduating from college in Alabama, Kelly received her Master’s degree in Psychology, giving her a unique perspective that most agents do not have. Her job experience includes working as a trainer for a national flooring company and excelling as an area manager for Nutri System weight loss centers when they were at their peak of growth. Kelly joined Blockbuster when they started with 20 locations in Atlanta working as a district manager in charge of 12 stores. She was promoted to Marketing Manager for the SE region of the U.S., supporting 300 stores at Blockbuster Video. After gaining a true understanding of new home sales working for National Centex Homes, Kelly decided to step out on her own into general real estate and her career as a successful agent was born. Almost twenty years later, she has grown her business as a single agent into an award-winning team.
As busy as she is, Kelly still finds time to support the Brookhaven community. For the past 13 years, Kelly has volunteered with the Brookhaven Arts Festival, a yearly event that draws thousands of attendees. Kelly took over the festival three years ago as the director, turning it into a non-profit as a way to give back to the community she loves. In addition to helping manage the festival, Kelly acts as a business liaison for a local school’s council. She also supports the community through events like the recent property tax appeal Q & A and is always willing to give free advice to a homeowner on the best use of their remodeling dollars.
Why I am in Real Estate:
My awareness of different types of homes began when I was very young. I grew up in a family of 7, with 5 kids all about a year and a half apart. I was born in Germany and because my father was in the military, we moved around every few years. By the time I was 10, we had lived in six different cities and on three different continents. Because we lived in so many different cultures, we lived in many different types of homes. Sometimes they were modest military housing located on military bases, and one time we lived right in the city of Thailand among the locals.
This exposure to so many different living conditions at a young age made me realize a common thread we all share. No matter what language you speak, what you look like, or what your cultural differences are, people all prefer comfortable living conditions. Where you live matters, and even though what everyone wants in a home or community may be slightly different, they all have a common desire. People want to live in a comfortable home in a community where they feel safe and connected. If you are able to choose where and how you live, that is what matters most.
