Why I am in Real Estate:

My foray into real estate began in 1994 when after a divorce, I impulsively moved to Chicago to live with my old college roommate.  I worked temp jobs, and explored the city while I figured out what to do next.  It wasn’t long before Prudential Commercial Mortgage offered me a newly created job of ensuring their database integrity.  It was a great, ground-floor opportunity with a strong corporation.  I quickly moved up the ranks with Prudential, and was working in their Atlanta office as a mortgage portfolio manager when the company decided to move my job to Texas.  Not wanting to move yet again (I’d done so 3 times in 7 years), I accepted a severance package, and made the logical decision to get my Georgia real estate license.  I spent the next few years working with buyers and sellers, and discovering my niche.  Real estate offers so many different roles for the professional, and I spent some time figuring out where my talents fit best.  Soon, it was obvious to me and most of the agents I worked with that coordinating closings came naturally to me, and it added a lot of value to the salesperson’s business.   It’s rewarding to be able to make such an emotionally charged life event (home purchase or sale) less stressful for clients, and to relieve a busy professional’s load so they can focus on what THEY do best – selling houses.
